Iproyector

Iproyector

Online language test

This is an online test we had to make for our language class here is the task.

I chose the poem Who’s who to analyze.

I used to think nurses
Were women,
I used to think police
Were men,
I used to think poets
Were boring,
Until I became one of them.

The poem is about what he used to think, that the society was settled by stereotypes but when he became a poet he understood he was wrong.

In my opinion the message is that there should be no stereotypes because although you think that nurses are only woman, there are men who are nurses, not only men are police, there are police woman and not all poets are boring until you understand them, he understood them when he began being a poet.

Literary devices:

Repetition “I used to think”

Irony “I used to think poets were boring until I became one of them”

ME: Where were you born?

BZ: I was born in Britain but I really feel I’m Jamaican.

ME: What would you say it is your occupation?

BZ: I would say I’m a poet, a playwright and an author.

ME: It is well known that you are dyslexic. Do you think that changes in your works?

BZ: Well not really, if you understand the message of what I write, my job is done

ME: In what do you influence your poems?

BZ: I have a lot of poems and I would say that my poetry is influenced in by the music and poetry of Jamaica

ME: Which would you say it’s your best work?

BZ: Well, really all the works are good I my opinion and for the general public, it depends on each person.

ME: You told me you were born in England so I suppose you root for a football team

BZ:  Yes of course, Aston Villa is the best team in the world I would love to have the time to go to all the matches

ME: Never had we heard such a strange story of someone rejecting an OBE title

BZ: I think it should not exist because it reminds me of slavery

ME: Had you ever been married?

BZ:  Yes for 12 years with my now ex-wife Amina until we got divorced in 2001

ME: It is possible that you are a vegan

BZ: Yes, I started being a vegan when I read poems about «shimmering fish floating in an underwater paradise, and birds flying free in the clear blue sky».

ME: You were included in The Times list of Britain’s top 50 post-war writers in 2008, how do you feel about it?

BZ: i feel proud of myself because someone chose me as the top 50 post war writers so if my works got to at least one person, my job is done.

Berlin Blockade

This is my graph. I couldn’t put the picture of my graph so I created one in bubbl.us

Questions and answers:

  1. What was life like in Berlin in the post-war era?

It was hard, because the population had little supplies and they faced a very bad winter because they had little gas supplie.

  1. How did Soviet policy towards Berlin differ from that of the West?
  2. Why was reform of the German currency a key issue for both sides?

Because the allies introduced a new currency in Bizonia and because of that, the next day the USSR stopped the roads and railways

  1. Why was the airlift such a major feat?
  2. In what respect can the USSR and US be responsible for further increasing tensions during the airlift?

Because both hated each other and they were the more powerful counties and they had very different ideas on what to do with Germany, USA wanted to help Germany to recover and USSR wanted to destroy Germany so it can’t recover never again

  1. Why did Stalin eventually agree to talks over the airlift?

Because it was clear for him that the Blockade did nothing and the allies could transport materials, even more than before

Enzymes and temperature

In our biology class, we went to the lab to investigate how does the catalase work. we put water with different temperatures and we add potatos with 1cm to it. we measure the job of the catalysts by the height of foam produced. temperature affects the catalase. I worked with Catu Grosso

AIM: how to affects the activity of catalase.

THIS is a slideshare that explains what we have done and the conclusion of it. Also you will find photos.

the potato was separeted from the vicar because it has to reach the temperature of the water. So both reach the temperature we are looking for.

Oxygen was  release ans produced foam. So more foam more activity. We measure the height of the foam

This is a Doc with all the results of the experiment

This is the graph

image

The activity of catalase increase at the same time as temperature and at 30* the activity started to dicrease and  at 100* there is no activity.

At a  high temperature the enzym loose his shape, is denatured, so the substrate cant fit so there is no catalase

Enzymes and ph: Lab work

In our biology class we went to the lab to see how enzymes worked with the ph.Is is theTask that is on our teachers blog.

5)a) The sucrase which is an enzyme catalyses so its speed up chemical reactions, then as water is needed to reactions to take place they take their water from the food and as the sucrase goes into the active site its slips and he substrate breaks down into glucose and fructose.

5)b)The investigation was carried out at 40 because its a fix variable and also because is a mammal. At higher temperature an enzyme is likely, to bump into its substrate more often than at lower temperatures.. They will also hit each other  with more energy, so the reaction is more likely to take place.

Colour of exposed surface: …………Darker…………………………………

Colour of surface covered with orange juice: ……The same color……………….

8) The high Ph that is found on the orange juice makes that the active site no longer fits the substrate, so the enzyme can not longer catalyse its reaction.

The Enzymes and Ph.

Aim: the effects of ph on plants tissue.

Method:IMG_4382IMG_4385IMG_4384

Results: The colour of the exposed surface changed into a darker colour but the covered surface the colour stayed the same.

Conclusion: We can say that Ph doesn’t let chemical reactions take place, because the active site no longer fits the substrate.
